The year 2000 saw a lot of my time being spent on the computer, as well as all the "stay-at-home motherly" type things and exploring Paris. The internet has played a major role as a link to my "former" life in America, with tons of family members and friends to stay in touch with. I have also been able to make so many new internet friends that I really cherish. Two groups that have been lifesavers for me are "Wives of Arabs" and "Wives of Moroccans." Such great women and very good listeners. I hope that we can all meet up some day. I have had the pleasure of meeting some members of another group that I belong to - "English Speakers in France." It was so good for me to make some new friends here in France. |

Here are two pictures of some members of the ESF group. The first photo was taken at a birthday party held at a friend's home. The second photo was taken at a dinner held in Paris with some visiting friends from America. |

I have also kept myself busy in the way of "Buzzell Family" items. An eGroup list is moderated by me and used as a way for some family members and family friends to keep in touch and share jokes, recipes, helpful information, etc. A monthly newsletter has been produced to keep everyone in the family updated on current family affairs. There is a Buzzell Family website that is in place (and currently being updated), as well as a site devoted to our first family reunion that was held this past summer in Maine - which I had the great pleasure of helping to organize. There are links below to take you to these two sites. |

Finally, the last (maybe?!?!) computer project I am working on is a website for alumni of my graduating class from high school. I have managed to find some old classmates and have formed an eGroup. Still looking for more alumni and will continue to develop the website. :-) |

After much searching, Mohamed was finally lucky enough to find a job in February. He works at Charles DeGaulle Airport here in Paris - employed by an outside agency but working as a Delta Airlines Business Elite Concierge. He is loving it - working with people all day is just his thing. The above photo was taken at the American Airlines Training Center in Dallas, Texas where he went for 2 weeks of airline security training. He is in the back on the right. |

The boys are both in the local French maternelle school now, going fulltime (preschool in America but more advanced here). This is Nezar's 2nd year in school and he is simply loving it. His French has come a long way from last year and he is now able to converse fairly well. He is learning so much this year, with writing being his priority right now. This is Samir's first year at school. It has taken him a little longer to adjust than Nezar did. He cried when I dropped him off for a good 2 months. But his teacher told him one morning while I was leaving to stop "playing cinéma" in front of his mother because he was just fine after I left. In February, I too will join the ranks of the school folk - I will finally be attending much needed French language courses. |
The pictures on the left above are of the boys on their first day of school in September. The picture on the right is their school photo - taken in November. |
